Kerala, a big state with verdant coastlines, languid backwaters, lush tea gardens, miles of forests, and labyrinths of canals is a sliver of tropical paradise.

Whether you want to savour a quiet cup of tea at Munnar, or simply walk down the glorious palm-fringed beaches of Kovalam, sampling seafood, Kerala has something for everybody! Here are a few travel tips to Kerala:

See:
● Munnar: The hills of Munnar are home to some of the largest tea plantations in southern India. A perfect honeymoon destination in Kerala, Munnar has incredible terrain and breathtaking scenery.
● Alleppey: The ultimate tourist destination, Alleppey has its fair share of some of Kerala’s finest beaches, ‘beach hopping’ is one of the best ways to enjoy the shores here.
● Kovalam: The most famous seaside destination of Kerala, a haven of peace and tranquillity, the idyllic tourist destination in the land of God. Kovalam offers great diversity with the Kovalam beach for all wishes and occasions.

● October to February: Winter is the best time to travel to Kerala, although tourists abound throughout the year. The temperatures are mild and perfect for beach lovers.
● From March to June: Summers can be very wet in Kerala, but that is another reason to enjoy a swim in the sea! This is off-season, so you can budget travel during the summer.
● From July to September: The monsoons show Kerala in all its splendour and can be a good time to visit Kerala. Nature is par excellence during these two months.

Getting around:
Buses and auto-rickshaw in Kerala have a large network that connects you to all major towns. The ferry is a great way to travel, especially in and around the port area.

What to Pack:
Carry Light cotton clothes if you’re travelling in summer or the monsoons since humidity tends to be very high. Beachwear, of course, and sunblock. Flip-flops for the beach and comfortable shoes for walking around in the city.
